I am a licensed independent social worker, psychotherapist, teacher, presenter, coach and facilitator skilled in the areas of cognitive behavioral therapy, mind body interventions, and self-care practices to improve emotional, physical and mental well-being.
I am a graduate of Columbia University School of Social work. I have over 13 years of post-graduate experience providing psychotherapy services in health care settings including the Veterans Administration, and Fenway Health. I work with diverse clients from all racial, ethic, spiritual backgrounds, sexual orientations and gender identities. I strive to approach my practice through a lens of cultural humility honoring each of my client’s identities and experiences.
I received advanced post-graduate training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy which I successfully apply to help clients reduce depression, anxiety, stress and substance use and to increase self-compassion, life satisfaction, and emotional well-being. In addition to my psychotherapy training, I am also a certified Yoga and Meditation Instructor. I believe in taking a holistic approach to mental health and I am able to integrate a mind body approach to psychotherapy.
I have 8 years of experience teaching and facilitating workshops on topics of self-care, yoga and mindfulness for stress management and anxiety. I am adjunct professor at Simmons University where I teach Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Additionally, I specialize in adapting cognitive behavioral therapy for diverse communities including the LGBTQI community.
